Newfoundland and Labrador is a mining friendly province of Canada, long known for its political stability and streamlined pro-business regulatory framework. The mining act ensures that companies developing mining projects are assured ownership to mineral rights and are provided security without risk from political instability.
The Mines and Energy branch of the department of Natural resources promotes and facilitates the sustainable development of the province's mineral and energy resources through its resource assessment, management and development activities for the overall benefit of the citizens of Newfoundland and Labrador.
EagleRidge Minerals has 6 mineral projects active in Newfoundland. The most advanced and drill ready is the St. Julien’s Project. The other five, Goose Cove, White Hills, Englee, Baie Verte and Little Bay are in a grassroots phase however; all have seen active mining and exploration in the past. A portion of the St. Juliens Project is under option by ERM while the rest of the properties in Newfoundland are 100% owned by Eagleridge Minerals.
St. Juliens: The St. Juliens property is an exciting large scale base metals exploration project located on the eastern shore of the Nothern Penisula in the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador. Sampling work has returned up to 22.5% copper from selected samples at the copper cod discovery on the project.
ERM has conducted several phases of exploration at the project leading to excellent results with numerous discoceries of high grade copper minerlization. This advanced stage project continues to reveal exciting discoveries leading to large expansions of known minerlized zones.
Over 800 line kilometers of helicopter borne VTEM geophysical suveys have been flown over the project and 55 square kilometers have been mapped and prospected by the company geology and prospecting field crews. Drill targets have been established by geophysics and ground proofing and a 4000 metre drill proggram is planned. read more
Baie Vista: This property is located in the historically important Baie Verte Penisula mining region on the Island of Newfoundland. The Baie Vista project contains 196 map staked claims covering covering several mineral occurances of both gold and base metal and other minerals.
The Baie Verte area of Newfoundland and Labrador has a rich history of mining and exploration dating back to the mid – late 1800’s. The region has been home to copper, asbestos and gold mines through its history and can now add platinum group metals as a new addition to its mineral bounty.
The Baie Verte Peninsula is a very active exploration region. It is home to modern gold mines and mills, and the area is experiencing a high level of exploration activity for both precious and base metals. more details
Little Bay Area Properties: EagleRidge Minerals Ltd staked a total of 90 minerals claims in four claim licenses covering copper and gold showings in the Little Bay area of Newfoundland and Labrador. The properties are located near the communities of Little Bay and Beachside on the Little Bay and Halls Bay Peninsulas and on Other Island in Notre Dame Bay. Notre Dame Bay is located in the central part of Newfoundland and Labrador.
The four claim licenses were staked over geology favorable to discovery of Base and precious metals. Research in the mineral occurrence database revealed the existence of 11 mineral occurrences within the boundaries of the properties. One occurrence is classed as a gold showing, three are classed as copper showings, one is classed as a copper prospect and one is classed as a copper indication, the remaining occurrences are classified as being pyrite. details
More Newfoundland Properties: ERM has three other properties on the island of Newfoundland. These properties are at a grassroots exploration stage, however they were staked to cover historic mineral occurances and geology favorable to the discovery of precious and base metals.
