Hannes Gold Project - Manitoba
The Hannes property is composed of 39 continuous claim blocks totaling over 9,400 hectares. The mineral claims were strategically staked to cover known gold occurrences and under explored geological structures favorable to gold deposits in the Rice lake Greenstone Belt (RLGB)
The property lies along the northern section of the RLGB, a succession of volcanic, sedimentary and intrusive rocks of Archean age. These volcanic and sedimentary rocks have been widely disrupted by faulting and intrusive activity ranging from granitic to gabbroic in composition.
The southwest half of the property is underlain by metamorphosed sediments and hornblende- plagioclase gneisses. The northeast portion of the property is mapped as a gabbro intruded by dikes of granodiorite and quartz diorite. Although only a small portion of the property area has been explored, historic work has revealed some promising findings. Historic channel samples taken from localized areas ran 0.324 oz/ton Au over 3.7 meters and 0.717 oz/ton Au over 1.2 meters.
The company commenced a program of diamond drilling at the Hannes property on March 18 2010. The PDF formatted news release on the drilling program can be viewed by clicking here.
