EagleRidge Minerals recently acquired by option over 2100 hectares of mining claims in the Bissett area, those are the Freeman property and the Bolger Claims. The company also expanded the Freeman property by staking two additional claims (431 hectares). Both properties are located near the San Gold Corp modern mining and milling infastructure and both properties have excellent acessibility.
These prospecive properties add significant assets to the companies land holdings in the Rice lake Gold Belt. EagleRidge now has over 18,000 hecatres of mineral properties in the region. more on the rice lake belt
Freeman Property
The Freeman-Bolger Project is a recent option agreement that EagleRidge has entered into. The project consist of 7 optioned Freeman claims (1707 hectares) and 5 Bolger (465 hectares). ERM also staked two new claims (431 hectares) expanding the Freeman property. These properties together now cover a total of 2603 hectares.
The company feels that these mineral claims are of great interest considering all the gold exploration activity in the Bissett area and the success of San Gold in the region. The Freeman claims are situated adjacent and to the north-east of the San Gold claim holdings while the Bolger are situated to the south-east. The Freeman property is only about 1500 meters northeast of the San Gold corp mining lease and the new high grade discoveries. The ERM group adjoins claims held by the most active exploration companies in the area .
Figure 2: Freeman Property LocationHistorical geological mapping revealed a folded gabbro in the vicinity of the Freeman claim area. This scenario can be an ideal host for gold-bearing quartz veins and represents a previously unexplored target of significance.
Figure 3: Freeman property map showing gabbro unit and faulting / foldingA Phase 1 program of reconnaissance mapping and prospecting is planned for the fall or 2009 whereby the existence of the mafic intrusive will be confirmed. Phase 2 will involve a detailed mapping program of about three weeks with an 8 person crew followed by a Phase 3 program of drilling in the winter of 2010. Details of the drilling will be worked out after the Phase 2 work.
Bolger Claims
The 5 Bolger mining claims are located 16 kilometers east of Bissett. The claims were staked to cover altered sediments and volcanics that have been intruded by quartz diorite, in the volcanic sedimentary basin of the Rice Lake Greenstone Belt.
These claims are in a favourable Archean environment for gold and are on strike with producing gold mines. The claims are in an underexplored area of the Rice Lake belt near Wallace lake.
